Consumers for a Better Grid is a watchdog holding grid operators accountable to consumers, states, and a clean, affordable energy future.
Fighting for a cleaner, more affordable grid
Consumers for a Better Grid advocates for the 65 million electric customers served by the PJM Interconnection power grid. This is the nation's biggest power grid operator, covering all or parts of 13 states from the Midwest to the East Coast. This private corporation manages electricity markets that have a significant impact on the power bills we pay.
PJM: The biggest thing you've never heard of
If you use electricity, you care about our work. Behind every light switch and power plant is the PJM electricity grid - a sort of superhighway with tolls on it. And, how those tolls are administered decides how much you pay and how clean your energy is.
Together, we can stand up against coal and gas companies
Coal and gas companies have learned how to work PJM - thus our bills are higher and they pollute more. Now it’s our turn. But it won’t be easy, because what we want - affordable, clean energy - isn’t what they want. Let’s work together, for lower bills and better air.
